PCTI Boys Lacrosse team will be entering its third year as a varsity program. The Bulldogs will continue to be part of the North Jersey Interscholastic Lacrosse League playing in the Kirst Division. PCTI is privileged to be part of the NJILL and the Kirst Division. Our goal every year to win the Kirst Division and to do that, we need to be prepared for the season. In order to do that, players need work individually in the off-season leading up to our team pre-season to achieve their personal and our team goals. Participating in summer leagues, camps, and clinics are a great way to prepare for the upcoming season. We here a PCTI will be having our first Bulldog Lacrosse Camp in the summer of 2018! But until then, and if you are unable to participate in other camps or leagues, here are some videos and tips so that you can improve on your own!

Drills & Training

When you have nothing else to do - do Wall Ball Drills!

Find a concrete/brick wall and do:

  • 50x Right Hand Close (5-10 yards back)
  • 50x Left Hand Close (5-10 yards back)
  • 25x Right Hand Far (15 yards back)
  • 25x Left Hand Far (15 yards back)
  • 25x Throw Right, Catch Left (10-20 yards back)
  • 25x Throw Left, Catch Right (10-20 yards back)
  • 25x One-Handed Pass Close (5 yards back)
  • 15x Behind the Back (5-15 yards back)

With a goal (place goal across your body from your throwing hand, you’re facing the wall):
  • 2 Sets of 10x Right Hand Pass-Catch-Shoot Close (1 step max)
  • 2 Sets of 10x Right Hand Pass-Catch-Steps-Shoot Far (3 step motion for outside shot)

Move Goal to Other Side:
  • 2 Sets of 10x Right Hand Pass-Catch-Shoot Close (1 step max)
  • 2 Sets of 10x Right Hand Pass-Catch-Steps-Shoot Far (3 step motion for outside shot)

Keys to Focus On

  • Inside close catches should ALWAYS be made behind your head
  • Build up to a Catch into a Cradle (catching behind your head)
  • ALWAYS use both hands
