Partnership Between PCTI & WPUNJ Fosters Wonderful Music

Students of Passaic County Technical Institute’s (PCTI) Performing Arts Music program have partnered with William Paterson University to foster an educationally enriching endeavor. A component of the college course, Teaching Strategies for Instrumental Music, saw that senior WPUNJ music students were partnered with PCTI students. By meeting four times over a month-long period, students of the career and technical high school received valuable one-on-one lessons from college mentors.

The joint project culminated with a recital celebrating the joys of music education at William Paterson University.

PCT Music Instructor Nelson Mendez and students Joseph Villalona (Passaic), Joshua Szeimberg (Passaic), A’mya Hamlet (Paterson), Katie Alvarez (Passaic), Patricia Quiros (Paterson), Louis Costanza (Hewitt), Parker Cheek (Clifton), Evelyn Cabrera (Clifton), Charles Sims (Hawthorne), and Gabriella Hernandez (Hawthorne) join WPUNJ Professor Dr. Carol Frierson Campbell and students to perform at William Paterson University at the conclusion of an educationally enriching partnership.
