Feb AOM 1

Tania Ayala Rosas, a student in PCTI’s STEM Academy of Biomedical Sciences, is February’s Athlete of the Month.

A member of the girls wrestling team, Tania has been wrestling for three years and currently competes in the 126-pound weight class. She began her freshman year when the girls wrestling program was just beginning, and this season has been especially meaningful as her patience, hard work, and growth in the sport have started to pay off. One of her favorite memories from the season came after earning a pin for her team, when everyone was cleaning up and the girls shared a fun, carefree moment together, laughing, chasing each other around, and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Outside of wrestling, Tania has also played field hockey and trains with Cordova Trains club wrestling. She enjoys reading, roller skating, singing, dancing, and spending time with family, and she has been involved in Choir, Video Production, and SkillsUSA. She also gave special thanks to her mom, calling her rock and her biggest source of support throughout her journey.

Congratulations, Tania!

AOM Feb 2

Muhammed Abuhadba, a senior in PCTI’s STEM Academy of Biomedical and Life Sciences, is February’s Athlete of the Month.

A member of the wrestling team, Muhammed competes in the 120-pound weight class and has made lasting memories throughout his time with the program. One of his favorite parts of wrestling has been cutting weight with his teammates. While it is one of the toughest parts of the sport, he shared that it has created strong memories and brought the team closer together. He also reflected on joining varsity as a freshman, where he learned from a lineup full of older teammates and gained valuable experience early on.

Outside of wrestling, Muhammed enjoys spending time with friends and family and trying different foods. Looking ahead, he plans to study exercise science in college before entering a physical therapy program, with the goal of one day opening his own clinic. He also gave a special shoutout to his coach, who is also his cousin, for pushing him throughout all four years and always wanting the best for him.

Congratulations, Muhammed!
