OCT AOM

Tori Hackett

Tori Hackett, a Sophomore in PCTI’s School of Cosmetology, is October’s Athlete of the Month. As a standout player on the Girls Soccer Team, Tori plays left midfield and has helped drive her team toward a strong season with hopes of reaching the county finals and advancing in the state tournament.

In addition to soccer, Tori competes in both winter and spring track and plays for a club team outside of school. Her favorite part of the season has been seeing how much the team has grown, working through challenges together and watching their hard work pay off. “It’s been amazing to see our progress as a team and how all the effort we put in at practice shows on the field,” she said.

Tori credits her success to the encouragement of her coaches and teammates, sharing her appreciation for Coach Steve and Coach K for always believing in her, and for the teammates who make every practice worthwhile.

Congratulations, Tori!

Hrystyna Khrupalo

Hrystyna Khrupalo, a senior in the Criminal Justice Academy, has led the Girls Tennis Team to a historic season as captain, culminating in PCTI’s first-ever county championship win.

One of Hrystyna’s favorite memories from the season was making school history as first time county champs for the Girls Tennis Team, a moment made even more special because most of the players have been competing together since freshman year. She also competed as the team’s first singles player and qualified for states—a major personal milestone.

Beyond tennis, Hrystyna stays active on the Criminal Justice Quiz Team and performs in a Ukrainian folk-dance group, which she says helps her stay connected to her culture and improves her athletic performance.

She credits her teammates, co-captain Phoebe Nguyen, and Coach Bove on the team’s success: “We really wanted to win for him—it made the victory even more meaningful.”

After graduation, Hrystyna plans to attend college out of state to study chemistry or forensic science.

Congratulations, Hrystyna!
