Sign Language Club

ASL Club is for students with or without prior ASL experience, student must only be interested in learning about ASl. The overarching mission of ASL Club is to increase the awareness of ASL with an acknowledgement and respect for Deaf culture. The goals of ASL Club include the following: provide students with various opportunities to interact with the Deaf community, enhance students ASL receptive and expressive skills and increase students' knowledge of Deaf culture. Students will gain leadership and organization skills from holding office positions within the club (president, VP, communication, secretary and treasurer). Sign Club members will perform at various events at the school (Holiday show and Graduation etc..), spread awareness of deaf history, teach/learn American Sign Language, compete in national ASL competition and host the annual ASL Jam.

 



The mission and purpose of this organization is:

  • To promote the use of American Sign Language and the inclusion of Deaf and Hard-of Hearing students in the PCTI school community.




Schedule

The club meets bi-monthly as a whole group and after school in smaller groups.
