Internships
During internships students work for employers for a specified period of time to learn about a particular industry or occupation.
- May include special projects.
- A sample of tasks from different jobs or task from a single occupation.
- Activities may or may not include paid work experience.
- Students receive occupational and safety instruction in the classroom prior to training in the workplace.
- The length of internship varies with the occupational training and skill level required.
- Overall evaluations are completed by business and industry personnel, students and school staff.
- A training plan must be provided for each student by the School-To-Careers Coordinator.
- Transportation to the work site and liability insurance are provided by the school.
