Today, students have the opportunity to take two types of college admissions tests - the ACT or the SAT. Most colleges accept both tests for admissions, but it is the responsibility of the student to check with the college admissions office to be sure which they prefer. PCTI Offers an ACT/SAT course for current juniors. PCTI also offers various administrations of both tests throughout the school year.

The ACT test is made up of four individual tests, each of which is designed to measure academic achievement in a major area: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Natural Sciences. The test is about three hours long. The test consists of a total of 215 scored questions. The ACT website includes information on the test as well as practice questions and tests. The test is comprised of four subjects:

Section Number of Questions Time Limit

New Security Procedures for College Testing

Recently, the security measures taken by both CollegeBoard and ACT centers have changed to include new photo identification requirements. Sites that administer the tests must strictly enforce the new regulations. Please visit the site where these procedures are outlined so as to be fully prepared for upcoming test dates. For your convenience, the sites are provided below:

In order to help students meet security requirements, CollegeBoard also provides an SAT Registration and Test-Day Checklist.
