PCTI Seniors Selected as Recipients of Prestigious Horatio Alger Scholarship Awards!

Two high-achieving seniors from Passaic County Technical Institute (PCTI), Dewan Chowdhury and Shah Rahman, were recognized through the Horatio Alger Scholarship Program for their outstanding academic and Career and Technical Education (CTE) success!

Dewan Chowdhury, a senior in PCTI’s Academy of Information Technology, was chosen as one of only 106 high school seniors from across the United States to be recognized as a Horatio Alger National Scholar. Through this prestigious scholarship, Dewan will receive $25,000 in pursuit of his bachelor's degree and access to a wide range of services presented by the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc. As the recipient of this award, Dewan has been invited to attend an all-expense paid trip to the 2020 Horatio Alger National Scholars Conference in Washington, D.C. this April!

Additionally, Shah Rahman, a senior in PCTI’s School of Applied Engineering was also named a 2020 Horatio Alger award recipient as a result of his academic achievements. As a scholarship winner, Shah will receive $10,000 toward his collegiate studies.

The Horatio Alger Scholarship Program is designed to assist high school students who have overcome great challenges in their lives and who have demonstrated excellence in their academic achievement.
