On Wednesday, December 12th , Passaic County Technical
Institute (PCTI) held a formal ceremony to honor senior athlete, Sydney Shannon, for electing to continue her
academic and athletic career at the NCAA Division I level with the University of Rhode Island! The process,
formally known as the NLI (National Letter of Intent) Signing Day, presents an opportunity for high school
athletes to formally commit to the college/university of their choosing. Sydney was joined by Coach Campiglia,
Coach Cioletti, and members of the Bulldog family who proudly celebrated the momentous occasion.
As a stand-out, three-sport varsity letter winner for PCTI’s Girls Cross Country, Girls Winter Track, and Girls
Spring Track teams, Sydney excels in the pole event and currently holds the school record in both indoor
(11’0’’) and outdoor track and field (11’0’’). Congratulations to Sydney Shannon! All the best as she pursues an
athletic and academic education as a Lady Ram!
