PCTI Health & Medical Science Students Honored for Community Service

Passaic County Technical Institute (PCTI) seniors Eleny Pereyra and Emily Duval are no strangers to donating their time and talents to raising funds for those in need. Now, both students are being recognized by the County Superintendent for their “E & E Community Service Project,” an initiative which implemented “Dental Hygiene” and “Smile Bags” to support the needs of those affected by hurricanes Harvey and Maria, orphanages, and senior homes in the Dominican Republic.

The duo has been hard at work over the past four years raising donations for Direct Relief, a humanitarian organization that improves the health and lives of people affected by poverty and emergencies.

Eleny and Emily will graduate in June from PCTI’s Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. Their charity efforts will be kept alive via future student advocates of the “E & E” organization.
