Each year, the National ASL Honor Society sponsors an annual ASL literature competition replete with cash prizes. Out of more than three hundred entries, two students of Passaic County Technical Institute (PCTI) placed! Both Lisanna Fermin and Leticia Sanchez were awarded second and third place in the Retell-Class A Category for the story “Deaf Dog in Park.” Six of PCTI’s students were also recognized as competition finalists. This includes Elisa Cornell, Spencer Hunt, Swastika Dey, Ty’Yanna Johnson, Dalili Gonzalez, and Alexis Latorre.
The ASL National Competition is sponsored by the American Sign Language Teacher’s Association. Congratulations to all winners!
