PCTVS January Students of the Month!

Salma Ullah

Salma Ullah is an exceptional student within the Engineering pathway at the STEM Academy. Her journey into this field of study was inspired by her early involvement in middle school competitions, such as Science Olympia, where she volunteered and discovered her genuine interest in engineering. Motivated by the various facets of engineering, Salma decided to pursue this academic concentration.

Boasting an impressive GPA of 4.48 her commitment to academic excellence is evident in her consistent performance. Salma says her achievement of being named Student of the Month “was really surprising but I am very grateful for it.” She humbly acknowledges the recognition, attributing it to her dedication and hard work.

In addition to her academic achievements, Salma is actively involved in a variety of extracurricular activities. She serves as a STEM Ambassador, volunteering for STEM family night and providing guidance to middle schoolers interested in joining the program. Salma is also a dedicated member of several school clubs and organizations, including Student Council Interact, Leaders Emerging Amongst Peers (LEEP), History Club, National Honor Society, and the World Language Honor Society. Furthermore, she contributes her time as a teacher's assistant for the STEM spring program for Middle Schoolers.

Outside of her school commitments, Salma dedicates her time to religious programs and community service activities, demonstrating her commitment to giving back to the community. She also values spending quality time with her family.

Salma Ullah's plan for the future is to pursue a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Her goal is to not only excel in her chosen field but also to build a fulfilling family life.

Giavonna Bergamasco

Giavonna Bergamasco is a student at PCTI’s School of Business Careers with a concentration in Marketing. She made the choice to pursue this concentration because of her skill in connecting with people using effective communication, and her interest deal-making with a touch of mathematics. Giavonna recognized that the field of business seamlessly incorporates these attributes, making it a natural fit for her.

With an outstanding GPA of 4.45, Giavonna's dedication to her studies is evident. When asked how she felt receiving the prestigious title of Student of the Month she said, “I’m very proud. I really feel like all my hard work paid off.”

Beyond academics, Giavonna actively participates in various clubs and activities, including the National Honor Society, History Club, Girls State, Student Council Interact Club, and serves as a Co-op for STEM general office. She even excelled in the William Paterson University’s RBI High School Sales Challenge Competition, securing a remarkable 2nd place overall. A true Bulldog, Giavonna is a student-athlete part of the Varsity softball team.

In her free time, Giavonna is dedicated to volunteering at her church where she assists as a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) teacher and maintaining a healthy lifestyle by regularly going to the gym.

Looking ahead to her future, Giavonna is committed to furthering her education at Seton Hall University, where she plans to continue her journey in the field of business and aims to pursue a master’s degree in business administration.

When asked for advice to share with incoming freshmen and her classmates, Giavonna's wisdom shines through: "Take a moment and find the beauty in everything, and step back and be grateful."

Jocelyn Millan

Jocelyn Millan's passion for Audio Visual Production led her to choose it as her concentration at PCTI’s School of Communication Arts. She explained, "I chose my CTE because, I really love making videos. I think I'm really creative and really like making things for people to enjoy."

Jocelyn is an exceptional student, boasting an impressive GPA of 4.13. Her dedication extends beyond academics, as she actively participates in various clubs and sports at her school. She is a proud member of the Marching band, Color Guard, and the National Honor Society and World Language Honor Society. Jocelyn also serves as a co-op for the PCTVS Communications Department.

Beyond her school commitments, Jocelyn is deeply involved in her after-school activity. She's a member of the winter guard club, Pegasus Independent, Regional / Class-A, showcasing her passion for performance and creativity.

When asked about her achievement as Student of the Month, Jocelyn expressed her pride, stating, “I was kind of shocked, but I’m really proud of myself. It makes me feel accomplished. It feels great!”

Looking ahead to her post-high school plans, Jocelyn intends to study Business Administration and Management. Her ultimate goal is to excel in a career she finds enjoyable.
